Zarape’ Cocina & Cantina, a West Hollywood restaurant that offers 100% scratch Mexican cuisine, is getting ready to expand for the first time with a new location in Long Beach at 4702 2nd St.

The company’s second site is set to move into the former home of Rubio’s Coastal Grill, according to a recent liquor license application. Co-owner Stefano Mozher tells What Now Los Angeles that he hopes to open this location in April 2025, offering a menu made from a 100% scratch kitchen with all-natural, raw, and fresh ingredients and no fillers. This is a massive achievement for the company, considering it is considered one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in West Hollywood.

When this location opens, customers can expect several menus, including brunch and happy hour. The standard lunch and dinner menu begins with some starters, such as crispy Mexican empanadas, cucarachas a la diablo, a mini taco platter, and more. Zarape’ Cocina & Cantina also offers several soups, salads, and entrees from the land and the sea. The restaurant also features a taco bar for two and several taco and burrito options.

This location at the corner of Roycroft Avenue and 2nd Street will be an excellent choice for the company’s first expansion. Zarape’ Cocina & Cantina will undoubtedly add to the area’s impressive lineup of high-quality restaurants, which includes L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele, The Win~Dow, Colossus, Saint & Second, and Nick’s on 2nd. With so many businesses nearby, this new restaurant is likely to attract a steady stream of customers due to the significant foot traffic in the area.
