Wine aficionado Smith Cho is set to open a neighborhood wine store for the residents in Brentwood sometime soon.

Moving into what used to be Moe’s Fine Wines, located at 11740 San Vicente Blvd Suite 114, in San Vicente Plaza, Cho believes the need is still there for Brentwood shoppers.

“Right now that area doesn’t have any wine shops,” she explained. “There is a big lack of the resource in the community and that shouldn’t be the case in that area.”

To be called Brentwood Fine Wines, Cho, a real estate agent and lover of wine, didn’t give too many details due to it still being in escrow but did say she has partners in place with years of experience in the industry.

She plans to have an assortment of wine from very high end options to $20 table wines.

“We want to have either end of the spectrum without being too snotty,” she said.

The new stop will also have liquor available and frequent wine tastings.

“Brentwood and Palisades should have their own wine shop that is completely accessible,” she said.

Cho, under the company The Menacing Beagle, is in permitting for a liquor license. Her goal is to open by the end of May.
