Sweet Flower has obtained licenses to open up stores across the LA-metro area in a huge build-out project. Two of these stores, Pasadena and Culver City, are set to open sometime in 2021, according to a press release last week. What Now Los Angeles reached out to Sweet Flower’s CEO and Co-Founder Tim Dodd for additional details, including specific locations, but no information has yet been provided.
Sweet Flower’s spaces in the DLTA Arts District, Melrose, Westwood, and Studio City have already opened in “phase one” of its ongoing expansion across SoCal. The huge cannabis retail store, which labels itself as more of a boutique dispensary, managed to secure these premium locations and more with plans to open up a potential 25 new stores by 2025.
Along with its storefronts coming soon to Pasadena and Culver City, Sweet Flower also plans on releasing new and self-branded products in 2021. Dodd said in the release that Sweet Flower was one of the first to offer curbside pickup for cannabis products, one of the many ways he feels the company has to thank for their rapid growth.
Sweet Flower also has a fully licensed distribution facility in the Arts District and its locations offer delivery from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. all week long. This delivery service, along with its online e-commerce option, has led to a very lucrative 2020, with its revenue stream more than doubling, according to the release. As of right now, there is no official, nor a specific date for the Pasadena and Culver City openings.
Sweet Flower is one of several cannabis retailers expanding during the pandemic, which has caused many industries to contract. LEMONNADE over the weekend is opening its second SoCal location, this time in the Altera neighborhood. The company, which is from the founders of COOKIES, last month opened on Melrose Ave., it’s first SoCal store.
