Located in Van Nuys, California, the Airtel Plaza Hotel and Conference Center is closing its doors on October 12, 2025. The decision came after the hotel’s management and Los Angeles World Airports were unable to reach a lease renewal agreement. Los Angeles World Airports owns the property.

Airtel Plaza Hotel Bids Goodbye to Van Nuys Community

Airtel Plaza announced the closure on the hotel’s official Facebook page on October 4. For decades, the property has hosted weddings, community events, and local gatherings across the San Fernando Valley. Opened in 1983, the hotel is known for its aviation theme.

Located steps from Van Nuys Airport, it has long been the area’s only on-site hotel. Over the years, it has offered 267 guest rooms and 22,000 square feet of event space. Its popular dining spots have hosted weddings, business meetings and international tour groups. Airtel Plaza has welcomed locals and travelers alike, serving as a hub for events and gatherings in Van Nuys.

Airtel Plaza Hotel Looks Back on 40 Years of Service

As the Airtel Plaza prepares to close, its management thanked the employees and guests on the social media post.

“This closing represents the end of a chapter that has touched countless lives. Many of our employees, some of whom have been with us for more than a decade, have poured their hearts into making the Airtel Plaza a second home for our guests,” the post read.

The post highlighted the moments that defined its 40 years of service and ties to the community.

“To our clients, neighbors, and friends: thank you for allowing us to be part of your stories. Thank you for the conferences, galas, fundraisers, quinceañeras, reunions, celebrations, and weddings that brought laughter and love into our ballrooms and meeting spaces,” the post continued.

The closure marks the end of a beloved Van Nuys landmark. The shared memories of the hotel will continue to resonate with the Van Nuys community for years to come.
