Nan McKay & Associates submitted a WARN notice on March 11 confirming plans to permanently close its Miami offices. The closure follows the conclusion of the company’s contract with the Miami-Dade Housing Authority.

The closure will lead to layoffs affecting a total of 101 employees. According to the notice, the layoffs will occur in phases beginning May 11, 2026, and will be completed by June 30, 2026.

Nan McKay & Associates to Close Two Miami Facilities, Files WARN Notice

Founded in 1980, Nan McKay & Associates is a leading affordable housing service firm that provides consulting, training, and management services. The company filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice with state officials and the Local Workforce Development Board.

The WARN filing states that the closure will affect employees working at two Miami locations:

  •  20 SE 3rd Avenue in Downtown Miami
  •  1111 Park Centre Boulevard in Miami Gardens.

The WARN notice filed on March 11 states that the layoffs are expected to be permanent, and none of the affected employees are represented by a union.

Contract End Leads to Miami Office Closure and 101 Job Cuts

Nan McKay & Associates’ major workforce reduction decision is driven by the end of its contract with the Miami-Dade Housing Authority.

The agreement was first awarded to manage the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program in 2019. It covered services such as program intake, case management, inspections, and family self-sufficiency support.

As the contract reached its final term, the company no longer needed the large workforce assigned to the Miami-Dade project. The closure decision will impact 101 jobs.

The initial layoffs are scheduled to begin on May 11, 2026, with the final phase expected to be completed by the end of June.

The closure of both facilities and the resulting layoffs mark a difficult period for Nan McKay & Associates and its employees.
