About the Live Local Act
In 2023, the Live Local Act was signed into law and amended last May. The act aims to increase affordable housing options by incentivizing developers to build projects such as the Beacon Hill at Princeton project. It provides increased tax breaks for income-restricted projects, reduced parking requirements, and limits on local government control over zoning processes. The first project to be approved under this act in Miami-Dade was in April for a 21-storey building. The act aims to bring affordable housing for the people, especially those in the middle-income category.
