It was only about a year and a half ago that What Now reported on Black Jack’s Rum Bar & Grille, a new restaurant from the Drunken Taco family of restaurants then planned for Davie. Time flies, and not only has that restaurant opened, but a second is now on the way, What Now confirmed with owner Ted Sabarese on Monday.
What Now reached out after finding plan review paperwork showing a new Black Jack’s Rum Bar & Grille location in the works in Fort Lauderdale, at 505 NE Third Ave.
“We’re opening probably about three months from now,” Sabarese told What Now. “The buildout is still not finished yet.”
The Black Jack’s menu features entrees like Black Jack’s Fish & Chips, Ropa Vieja, Paella, and a Whole Snapper. There’s also a selection of steaks, along with burgers and other handhelds, including the Behemoth: “ONE POUND double burger, two layers of your choice of cheese, lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions.”
“Welcome to Black Jack’s Rum Bar & Grille in Davie, FL, where the food’s utterly delicious, the drinks are strong, and the fun is non-negotiable,” says the restaurant’s website. “Our menu is stacked. Burgers? Massive. Steaks? Sizzling. Fish & chips? Crispy perfection. If you’re feeling coastal or want something lighter, we’ve got ceviche, fresh snapper, and an authentic paella. But don’t kid yourself. This is where flavor comes to flex.”
