Having “accumulated over 3 dozen awards and accolades in the past 5 years to become one of the most awarded restaurants in Florida,” M.E.A.T. Eatery and Taproom has been missed in Boca Raton since it closed its location there this summer. The Boca restaurant may soon be replaced by one or even two new locations, however.
“I have a space I’ve been looking at and in negotiations with in Lighthouse Point and in Deerfield,” owner and chef George Patti told What Now on Wednesday. “I’m hoping that will go through, and then we could be open in May.”
That’s good news for South Florida’s M.E.A.T. Eatery fans (although true die-hards can still make the trek down to the Keys to visit the location at 88005 Overseas Highway in Islamorada). Also good news for fans is that all your favorite dishes will be on the menu at the new M.E.A.T. Eatery; the new location(s) will also feature the same comfortable burger-joint vibe and have roughly the same footprint.
M.E.A.T. Eatery offers an ever-popular selection of burgers and sandwiches that include the House Pulled Pork Sandwich (named one of the Top 5 Sandwiches in Palm Beach County at the former Boca Raton location), the Inside-Out Juicy Lucy Burger (Pimento Cheese and Bacon Stuffed 7 oz. Burger topped with American Cheese, Lettuce and Tomato, RATED #1 BURGER IN FLORIDA 2015-2017), and even an Impossible Burger.
“I love the people here, and I looking forward to having something open again in the area,” said Patti.
