“Lebanese Street Food Is Coming to Delray Beach!” said a Facebook post published by Amar Sandwich Shop last week. “Get ready for Amar Sandwich shop, bringing all the flavors you love from Amar to a new fast-casual concept in the heart of Downtown Delray Beach.”
Amar Sandwich Shop, a fast-casual spinoff of the popular Amar Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar, will open at 522 E Atlantic Ave.
Created by Amar owner Nicolas Kurban, the new sandwicherie promises to bring together a few Amar favorites, together with some brand-new choices.
Amar Sandwich Shop “carries some of [Amar’s] greatest hits,” says coverage by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, “including hummus, shawarma and baklava. Menu newcomers include falafel pita wraps, salad bowls, tahini shakes and other grab-and-go ‘mezze bites.’”
Opening in a space in which Kurban had originally planned to launch a new pizza concept called Gesto, Amar Sandwich Shop will be situated on the corner opposite Le Colonial Delray Beach, among restaurants like The Seed Coffee + Juice Bar, Hawkers Asian Street Food, and—of course—Amar Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar.
What Now reached out to Nicolas Kurban on Wednesday to ask about plans for Amar Sandwich Shop’s launch. Kurban was not immediately available for comment.
