Fort Lauderdale’s Sistrunk area will soon be home to a new Texas-style barbecue restaurant. B&D Trap is preparing to open this summer at 1551 NW Sixth Street, on the northeast corner of the intersection with Northwest 15th Way.

B&D Trap will be a classic Texas barbecue experience in a new building constructed from the ground up, managing director Kevin Rodriguez told What Now on Friday.

“The basic concept isn’t going to change: you walk in, you get your barbecue, and there are some seats inside and outside. There will also be live music from to time time,” Rodriguez said.

Although the menu is still under development, you can expect Texas barbecue classics like brisket, along with beer and wine, in a space that will seat about 75 guests, including a large outdoor patio area.

“We want to really invest in the community,” said Rodriguez. “This area hasn’t gotten a lot of attention in the last few years, and we’re trying to bring some talent and some cuisine to the area.”
