Davie Shopping Center, located on the southwest corner of the intersection between South University Drive and Griffin Road, is the future home of South Florida’s first Big Whiskey’s Restaurant and Bar. Big Whiskey’s announced back in February that it had signed a three-unit deal for South Florida with Whiskey’s Florida LLC, a subsidiary of Nosnaws Corporation, which owns and operates a handful of different restaurants, including 8 IHOP locations.

“We can’t wait for guests to come in and try the food and have a drink at Big Whiskey’s signature bar,” Nosnaws president Steve Swanson said in a press release.

The Davie Shopping Center location, opening at 4599 S University Drive according to the Big Whiskey website, will open first, with two more expected to follow in the “Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach County area.” The group is also looking to expand into the Tampa and Orlando markets in the near future.

“Big Whiskey’s was founded in Downtown Springfield, Missouri in 2006. The brand boasts a robust weekend brunch menu and an extensive drink menu with 120+ whiskeys, including rare and allocated bottles,” reads the press release. “The diversity of menu items and dayparts lends itself to the “every guest, every time” mantra the brand touts inside its stores. Whether it’s game day, date night, happy hour or an event, Big Whiskey’s prides itself on accommodating every guest’s experience.”

What Now reached out to Steve Swanson on Thursday to inquire about plans for the Davie location, and subsequent locations. Swanson was not immediately available for comment.
