Founded in 2020 in Pompano Beach, Black Flamingo Brewing is already preparing to open a second location, this time in Oakland Park. Described on its website as being on a mission “to craft unique and delicious handcrafted artisan ales that showcase the vibrant and diverse culture of South Florida,” the brand is also a supporter of the local music scene. And so, in addition to craft beer, food, and brewing facilities, the new location will also feature a stage for live music.
“We’re focused on beer lovers, of course,” co-owner Andres Wolff told What Now on Thursday. “But there’s also the component of music. It’s not only about doing great beer. We also believe in the experience, in what you can do when you have a great beer in your hand.”
Black Flamingo’s brews include Hoppy Beers like Sah Bro! (Double IPA with Sabro & Nelson Hops) and Banana Express (Milkshake IPA conditioned with Bananas and Pineapple with lactose). Sours include Cluster Funk (5.8% ABV Blended Wine Barrel Aged Sour Ale) and Funky Little Beat (Blended Sour Ale rested in oak barrels for 22 months, conditioned with cherries). For something Light & Refreshing, try the pilsner-style Suavecita or the amber lager Metalheads Dream.
There’s no official opening date for the Oakland Park location, but keep an eye out: Black Flamingo Brewing will open soon at 3482 NE 12th Ave.
“It’s going to be a great place for beer, family, and music,” Wolff said.
