Bud’s Chicken & Seafood, the locally-owned, family-run chicken and seafood restaurant that’s been loved for nearly 70 years, is opening a new location.
Bud’s will open its seventh restaurant at 8801 West Boynton Beach Boulevard, on the corner of Boynton Beach Boulevard and Lyons Road. The restaurant is set to open early 2026, though an exact date has not been announced.
Bud’s has been a longstanding favorite in Palm Beach County ever since Bud Brinkman opened the original Boynton Beach location in 1957. The restaurant is known for its fried chicken, seafood dinners, corn fritters, and freshly-made sides.
The restaurant has always been family owned and operated, with Bud’s children, Michael, Tom, Mark, and Tim Brinkman taking over the business from Bud for years. Recently, Bud’s grandchildren – Chris, Nick, Phillip, and Luke Brinkman have the reigns of the business. In a press release, Phillip Brinkman stated his family’s gratitude for the opportunity to open this new restaurant. “Opening a new location is especially meaningful for us,” said Phillip Brinkman. “Not only are we excited to bring Bud’s to even more neighbors and expand our team, but it’s also a proud moment for our family to continue what our grandfather started nearly 70 years ago.”
In a Facebook post, Bud’s alluded that this is the beginning of a growth period for the beloved chicken spot: “We’ve read all your comments and we’re working tirelessly to bring Bud’s to your community, and this is just the beginning! We’re already setting our sights on counties to the north, so stay tuned.”
