Founded in 2011, Burgers & Shakes is a longtime South Florida burger mainstay, with restaurants open in Hollywood Beach, North Miami Beach, and Bahia Mar’s Marina Village, plus a Burgers & Shakes on Wheels food truck. Now, the brand is gearing up to expand once again, replacing Andiamo! Brick Oven Pizza in the MiMo district.

“The idea is to open by the end of the year,” owner George Iglesias told What Now on Friday.

Once open in the space Andiamo! currently occupies, in the historic General Tire Building at 5600 Biscayne Blvd, Burgers & Shakes will be able to get to work moving in.

The menu at the brand’s fourth location will be the same one that’s proven successful at the first three: burger varieties from the Classic Cheeseburger to the BBQ Burger with applewood bacon, onion rings, and barbecue sauce; along with a Chicken & Avocado Burger and a Grilled Mahi-Mahi Burger. Sides include fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings; and shakes come in flavors like Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, and Oreo.

“We have a simple concept,” said Iglesias. “We’ve been doing the same menu for fifteen years.”

That said, this location will feature one big difference: a bar.

“We’ll have the same Burgers & Shakes concept in the front, but in the back we will have a full bar, where you can have a drink and a burger. It’s basically the same format, very laid-back, but with the bar at the back,” said Iglesias.

The bar will feature both indoor and outdoor space, and is expected to be open Thursday to Sunday, offering reasonably priced drinks and a great place to relax.

That’s exciting news for South Florida burger fans!
