Founded by Ohio-based hospitality company Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, Ocean Prime is an award-winning seafood and steakhouse concept with eighteen restaurants in locations as far-flung as Boston and Beverly Hills. Now Cameron Mitchell Restaurants has announced plans for a nineteenth location, this time in Fort Lauderdale—the first Ocean Prime in South Florida.

“Located on the Intracoastal Waterway by the Las Olas Bridge, Ocean Prime Fort Lauderdale, scheduled to open in Spring 2025, promises to revolutionize waterfront dining,” says the Ocean Prime website. “With over 15,000 square feet and spacious outdoor dining terraces on both floors, this two-story restaurant aims to provide guests with a vast environment that perfectly embodies the energy and sophistication of Fort Lauderdale’s coastal lifestyle.”

To get a sense of what’s coming, take a look at the dinner menu at Ocean Prime’s Tampa location: it all starts with seafood On Ice, like Oysters on the Half Shell, Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, and Dutch Harbor King Crab Legs. Then come appetizers like Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli and Point Judith Calamari, along with a selection of sushi rolls, leading into entrees that include Blacked Snapper (Corn Spoon Bread, Swiss Chard, Corn Emulsion), Sea Scallops (Parmesan Risotto, English Peas, Citrus Vinaigrette), and Lobster Linguine (Roasted Tomato Butter, Arugula, Chili Flake, Parmesan)

“Building upon our steadfast commitment to providing exceptional dining experiences, the addition of our fifth Ocean Prime location in Florida marks another significant milestone in our expansion in the state,” said Cameron Mitchell Restaurants President and COO David Miller in a statement cited in recent coverage by the South Florida Business Journal.

What Now reached out on Wednesday to Mitch Miller, Vice President of Ocean Prime at Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, to inquire about Ocean Prime Fort Lauderdale. Miller was not immediately available for comment.
