A new ice cream shop is preparing to open in Lauderhill, and it’s all about cars. Opening at 4648 N University Drive, the Ice Cream Pit will feature all things cars—both in its décor and on its menu.

“It’s going to be premium scoop ice cream and frappe,” co-owner Suheily Torres told What Now on Friday. “We’ll have tables with car parts and other decorations, places to take pictures—I don’t want to give too much away yet, because we want it to be a surprise.”

The same goes for the menu, which is still largely under wraps but will feature fun concepts like the 4×4: four ice cream flavors and four toppings.

Owners of a nearby auto shop, the team at the Ice Cream Pit is connected to the local car enthusiast culture, and they arrived at the conclusion that was missing was a gathering place for the whole family.

“The car crowd is very big here in Florida, but they don’t have a lot of places where you can take the whole family. We wanted to create something where people can bring their kids and enjoy the car community.”
