With 19 locations either open or under development, Carmela Toast & Coffee Bar is a homegrown South Florida mainstay for coffee, avocado toast, and other cafe favorites.
What Now last reported on the steady expansion of Carmela Coffee a little over year ago, when the cafe chain was headed to Wellington (with, at the time, a total of 16 locations open or under development.) Now, we’re reporting on number 20: plan review paperwork submitted by Contivo, LLC shows a new Carmela Coffee Bar opening at 16881 Persimmon Blvd W in Westlake. (Google Maps places this address in Loxahatchee.)
What Now confirmed news of the opening with franchisee Alejandra Aedo on Thursday. Aedo was not immediately available to discuss the opening further.

The Carmela menu features classic espresso coffee drinks, plus brewed and cold brewed coffees. Its food menu features eight different approaches to avocado toast, including Caprese, Smoked Salmon & Egg, and Burrata & Prosciutto. The toast choices continue: try the Nutella & Strawberry (Rustic Bread, Nutella, Sliced Strawberries & Powdered Sugar).
