A new restaurant is currently in the works near Mizner Park in Boca Raton. Called Cocina, it’s a new project from Emily Kua, who was previously behind Vietnamese restaurant Pho Boca.

According to submitted plan review documents, Cocina will open at 493 N Federal Highway, in a small retail center sandwiched between Federal Highway and North Dixie Highway.

What Now reached out to Emily Kua to inquire about plans for Cocina’s opening and the details of its menu offerings. Kua was not immediately available for comment.

That does leave us guessing about the food on offer, although the Spanish word for kitchen is something of a hint. We could be dealing with cuisine from Spain, Mexico, or many other parts of the Hispanophone world.

Opening on the far side of Federal Highway from Mizner Park, Cocina would join a thriving restaurant community that includes American Social, Kapow Noodle Bar, Max’s Grille, and more. The building where it’s located houses restaurants like Sushigo, Sugar Milk Boba & Dessert Bar, and Papa John’s Pizza.
