Based in Connecticut, where it has locations in Middlebury, Southington, and Waterbury, pizza brand Domenic’s & Vinnie’s Pizza is now bringing its longstanding pizza tradition to South Florida. The company has submitted plan review paperwork for a new location in Royal Palm Beach, at 11452 Okeechobee Blvd.

“[Domenic’s and Vinnie’s] started in 1949 with my partner’s uncles,” owner Michael Annenberg told What Now on Tuesday. “I’ve been in the business for 32 years, and when we took over, we started with that one location; then, a year later, we had a second, and another two years after that, a third.”

Growth is the order of the day, in other words. Meanwhile, Annenberg has family connections in South Florida, particularly in Boca Raton and Miami Beach. After Annenberg’s son had the idea to bring Domenic’s and Vinnie’s to the area, a plan began to take shape.

“We’re going to be offering a full line, from fresh pasta to salads to appetizers to desserts,” said Annenberg. “There will also be a full bar, with 30 seats in the bar area, and 120 seats overall.”

That means the menu will be a bit different from those of the Connecticut locations, with a variety of new menu items in outside the brand’s popular pizza offerings. Still you’ll be able to enjoy favorites like the Hot Lips pizza, with cheese, soppressata, hot pepper flakes, and honey.

The quality, Annenberg adds, is another thing that won’t be changing at the Royal Palm Beach restaurant.

“We’ll have the same homemade sausage, the same homemade meatballs,” Annenberg said. “We make it all fresh on the premises with high quality ingredients. We’re bringing New Haven-style pizza to an area that needs it.”
