Founded in Wynwood in 2015, Coyo Taco has taken its menu of tacos, quesadillas, burritos, tortas, and more to five locations in Miami, plus several more abroad, in countries like Portugal, the Dominican Republic, France, and Panama. A recent plan review indicates the chain will expand locally once again, with plans appearing to have been proposed for a Coyo location at 8001 NW 36th St.

The chain offers a menu of tacos with protein choices like Al Pastor, Carne Asada Alambre, Pescado, and Beef Birria. Burritos and burrito bowls come with Pollo al Carbon, Al Pastor, Cochinita Pibil, and Coliflor, plus guests’ choice of toppings. Several of these proteins are also available in a torta, topped with refried black beans, queso mixto, avocado, pico de gallo, chipotle aioli, pickled jalapeños, and onions.

The location on 36th St. sits near two Marriott hotels, Fairfield Inn & Suites and AC Hotel. Across 36th is Helping Hands Home Health Care and a Burger King.

What Now was unable to reach a representative of Coyo Taco on Monday. No timeline for construction and opening of a Doral Coyo Taco location has been announced.
