Created in 2021 by Fire Pit Hospitality, the culinary force behind concepts like Lincoln Beard Brewing Co. and Strange Beast Bar & Pizzeria, Cry Baby Creamery has made a name for itself in Palmetto Bay with signature ice cream flavors like Viva Pastelito (cream cheese & mascarpone ice cream with guava swirls & caramelized puff pastry) and Party Animal (Naturally colored green vanilla ice cream with swirls of homemade vanilla frosting, dye-free rainbow sprinkles, and homemade frosted animal crackers). Now, the brand has a second location in the works in West Kendall.

“We’re aiming for October to November,” Stephanie Diaz, who heads up the ice cream brand, told What Now on Tuesday. “It’s in a slightly bigger space, and the menu will be a little different, with more desserts and other baked goods.”

Sounds good to us! The current location already has cookies and cupcakes to choose from, in varieties like the Guava Maria cookie (caramelized guava, Maria crackers) and the Chocolate Cubed cupcake (chocolate cupcake with chocolate chips topped with chocolate buttercream). More please.

Meanwhile, the location at 17389 S Dixie Hwy in Palmetto Bay is currently serving up seasonal ice cream flavors like Campfire (toasted marshmallow ice cream with chunks of Graham cracker gravel and swirls of chocolate ganache) and Passion Cheesecakes (ricotta ice cream with swirls of passion fruit and chunks of shortbread crust). Check them out while summer lasts.

“We take pride in crafting every scoop of our homemade ice cream right in our kitchen, using only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients,” says the Cry Baby Creamery website. “Our ice cream is made with premium dairy—free from artificial ingredients or preservatives—featuring just cream, milk, sugar, and natural stabilizers. We source our chocolate ethically and locally from Exquisito Chocolates, and nearly all our mix-ins are lovingly baked in-house by our talented baking team (with a few classics, like Oreo cookies, as an exception.”
