Culver’s, the Wisconsin-based fast-casual spot for ButterBurgers and custards, is coming to Pembroke Pines.

Barnesto Custard, LLC filed permit applications with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) to open a Culver’s at 1580 S. Hiatus Road. No opening date has been announced. This will be Pembroke Pines’ first Culver’s, although there are several existing locations in South Florida.

Founded in 1984 by Craig and Lea Culver, along with Craig’s parents George and Ruth, Culver’s serves items steeped in Wisconsin tradition and values. Its specialty is the ButterBurger, a burger made with always-fresh beef that’s grilled to order and placed on a buttered bun. Frozen custard is made fresh daily with milk direct from Wisconsin dairies, and cheese curds use un-aged yellow and white cheddar provided exclusively to Culver’s by La Grander Hillside Dairy in Stanley, Wisconsin.

The restaurant is also known for its midwestern values and hospitality. Guests are greeted with a friendly hello and meals are personally delivered. Employees are also given a team-oriented atmosphere with opportunities for advancement, with owner/operators who work alongside their teams.

The honest food and valued hospitality has paid off with more than 1,000 Culver’s locations open throughout the U.S., with a growth rate of about 50 new locations annually.
