Chef David Chang’s popular fried chicken concept, Fuku, is set to open its first standalone South Florida location on Wednesday, March 11. The new restaurant is located at 135 Miracle Mile in Coral Gables.
Fuku operates 15 locations inside major stadiums and arenas nationwide.
Fuku Opening First Standalone South Florida Location
Chef David Chang founded Fuku in 2015, and it is best known for its spicy fried chicken sandwich, the “OG Sando.” The chef-driven concept is a quick-casual chain that blends Asian and South American flavors.
The new Miracle Mile location opens March 11, marking Fuku’s first brick-and-mortar in South Florida.
Excited about the grand opening, David Chang said, “Great food, no overthinking it, and a place people actually want to hang out.” He described the opening as the next step in Fuku’s expansion.
“We want everyone, from longtime fans to first-time visitors, to enjoy the energy of Fuku, whether it’s grabbing a quick sando on the go, sharing a meal with friends, or just experiencing a bit of the playful, bold spirit that made Fuku a hit in the first place,” shared Chang.
The company also plans to open a West Palm Beach location by late 2026. Fuku operates 15 locations inside major arenas, ballparks, and stadiums across the nation.
Inside Fuku’s Coral Gables Restaurant

The new Coral Gables location features a bright 2,000-square-foot space. Inspired by the Momofuku brand, it has a modern yet elegant design with peach accents.
The restaurant menu focuses on Fuku’s signature sandos, served on butter-toasted potato rolls and available spicy or mild. Choices include the OG Sando with fried chicken, mayo, and pickles.
Other favorite items on the menu are the Sweet & Spicy Sando with glazed chicken and pickled daikon and the Miso Ranch and Slaw Sando. Sandwiches are priced between $10 and $12.
It will also serve chicken tenders, waffle fries, party fries, salads, garlic rice, and sides. Desserts feature collaborations with Milk Bar and Fookem’s Fabulous. Drinks include yuzu lemonade, oolong sweet tea, slushies, wine, and canned beer.
Grand Opening Day Festivities
The restaurant will be hosting grand opening celebrations with special in-store activities, including:
Fuku’s Lucky 135 Drop: In honor of its address at 135 Miracle Mile, the first 135 guests will receive a limited-edition gift bag. The bag includes a tote designed by artist West of Chester, along with Momofuku Chili Crunch, cookies from Milk Bar, a $20 Fuku gift card, and branded merchandise. Five “golden bags” will include a $100 Fuku gift card.
Beverages: For the opening day celebrations, the drinks will feature selections from a locally loved craft brewery.
Guests can take part in a vintage photo booth experience and get custom Fuku T-shirts screen-printed during the event.
Claudia Lezcano, CEO of Fuku, said the Coral Gables opening marks an important step for the brand in South Florida.
“We’re thrilled to bring our iconic fried chicken sandos to Coral Gables and continue growing the brand in the region,” she shared. “This opening represents just the beginning of our expansion plans, with more locations and menu innovations on the horizon.”
Fuku will offer a casual vibe that reflects South Florida’s laid-back culture, paired with crispy and spicy chicken. With these features, the new restaurant is expected to draw attention from the local community.
