With 17 locations in its South Florida home base, Don Pan International Bakery is a popular, growing South Florida favorite that promises “good, healthy Latin-American food with a quality and consistency you can depend on.”
What Now last checked in with Don Pan back in March, reporting on plans for a new location in Lauderhill. That location has since opened at 4996 N University Dr. It boasts 4.9 stars, showing the brand has an approach that works.
“Sometimes I think people think of us as purely a Cuban bakery or Venezuelan bakery, but the name really is ‘International Bakery’ for a reason,” Carlos Alvarez, President of CA Bread Group, told What Now in the spring. “We strive to have foods from all over Latin America, which means Europe as well. We have desserts from French cuisine, from German cuisine, which we make there every day.”
The Lauderhill location is not all the brand has been up to. A new location is now in the works Doral, at 7671 NW 107th Ave, Suite 1. It will be the brand’s second bakery in Doral.
Meanwhile, this week, What Now came across plan review paperwork for a Don Pan at 9801 Pine Blvd, Unit A, in Pembroke Pines. The site is part of Palm Square, a retail center situated quite close to Don Pan’s current Pembroke Pines location, which is in the Pembroke Lakes Mall, at 11045 Pines Blvd. It is not known whether this means a relocation for the Pembroke Lakes Mall location or a new Don Pan altogether.
Carlos Alvarez could not be reached immediately for comment on Wednesday.
