It’s already more than 13 months since the Miami New Times reported on the sudden closing of popular Miami Beach restaurant Drunken Dragon. The restaurant which served Korean BBQ with grilling tables, along with tiki-themed cocktails, had opened back in 2014.
“Fortunately,” the New Times coverage said, “the restaurant will be relocating —albeit further away—to Hallandale Beach with hopes of opening in late 2024.”
The Drunken Dragon reopening came up last week in a piece by the South Florida Business Journal, about “investors, chefs, and diners [betting] on Korean food’s future in the Magic City.”
“[Drunken Dragon] announced plans to relocated to Hallandale Beach, though the new location has yet to open,” the coverage said.
And so What Now reached out this week to Angel Febres, a partner in Homecookin Hospitality Group, the company behind Drunken Dragon, to inquire about the plans for the reopening.
Febres declined to share the finer details at the moment. “DD Hallandale is still 12 months away,” Febres said. What Now is awaiting more information in the coming months.
An article published last August by the South Florida Business Journal placed Drunken Dragon Hallandale within Hallandale Beach’s Atlantic Village development. Atlantic Village is home to restaurants like 7 Spices, Casa Crudo, and Crema Gourmet Espresso Bar.
