Eight Bar, a new “neighborhood bistro and raw bar,” is opening later this month in Miami Worldcenter. Opening on the first floor of Maple & Ash, it will be an expansion of the brand created by Chef Danny Grant and Maple Hospitality Group, which also has a location in Chicago. Miami’s Eight Bar is opening on October 24 at 699 NE First Avenue.

“Eight Bar was designed with the city’s energy in mind,” says a recent press release. “While the Chicago location is a favorite, this isn’t a carbon copy; it has been thoughtfully reimagined for Miami as a neighborhood gathering place in a stylish setting that blends polished with playful charm. From lush greenery to leopard wallpaper adorning the back bar, the design layers playful, unexpected details with a sense of warmth that makes the space as inviting as the menu.”

That menu will feature dishes like Crispy Fried Whole Red Snapper, “served sizzling with Szechuan-spiced sauce and bouquet garnish.” There’s also the Plateua del Mar, “an abundant centerpiece for sharing, featuring lobster, prawns, scallops, oysters, and fettuccine in a Calabrian chili sugo.” Then there’s the Eight Bar Burger and sushi rolls like the King Crab Roll and the Spicy Tuna Roll.

“Eight Bar has always been about serving incredible food and drinks with equally genuine service without the pretense,” Chef Danny Grant said in the press release. “With Miami, we wanted to create a place that fits the way this city eats and gathers – somewhere you can swing by for sushi after work, a burger with friends, or a bottle of wine late at night and feel like it’s your spot.”

What Now reached out on Thursday to Maple Hospitality Group managing partner Jim Lasky to ask about the opening. Lasky was not immediately available for comment.
