The community of restaurants and local businesses on North University Drive in Lauderhill will soon welcome a new cafe into the mix. Called Fancy & Divine Cafe, it’s opening in the space currently occupied by Divine Mercy Gift Shop, at 5137 N University Drive.

“We’re going to have smoothies, sandwiches, patties, coffee, hot chocolate,” co-owner Muranda told What Now on Wednesday. “It’s going to be a place with wifi, and where you can sit and have a drink at your leisure.”

Opening in the Divine Mercy Gift Shop space, Fancy and Divine Cafe joins a restaurant community that includes Miami Grill Lauderhill and Rancho Nando Lauderhill. And though the space will primarily be given over to the new cafe, Muranda says Divine Mercy Gift Shop will still be operating in a section of the space behind Fancy & Divine.

“It’s a cafe where you can come for relaxation, to read a book, bring a group of friends, or have a family conversation,” added Muranda’s son, a partner in the project.

No official opening date has been announced yet for Fancy Divine Cafe, but keep an eye out in Lauderhill, just north of North University Drive and Northwest 50th Street.
