A new pan-Caribbean restaurant is currently preparing for launch in West Palm Beach. Opening at 235 N Sapodilla Ave., according to submitted plan review documents, Fantasy Island Restaurant will serve up a fusion of Caribbean cuisines like Haitian and Jamaican, with a particular focus on seafood.
“The menu will be a mix of everything,” Nivia, an owner of the restaurant together with Chef Fritz Jean-Louis, told What Now on Thursday. “It will be everything from seafood to steaks to cocktails.”
Behind the restaurant are about 25 years of restaurant-biz experience. You may already know some of the flavors served up by Chef Fritz if you’ve visited the Newport Diner at 2677 Forest Hill Boulevard #123 in West Palm Beach. It’s a breakfast and lunch place offering classics like Biscuits and Gravy, burgers and patty melts, Chicken & Waffles, and more.
Fantasy Island Restaurant is launching in a spacious location that features a total of 155 combined inside and outside seats, plus a full bar. It’s opening in early 2025 on the southwest corner of North Sapodilla Avenue and Third Street.
