This week, Gioia Hospitality Group and Fabio Trabocchi Restaurants announced the “successful conclusion” of the Management and Licensing Agreement under which Gioia Hospitality had been operating Fiola Miami in Coral Gables, at 1500 San Ignacio Ave. That restaurant is now due to shut its doors on June 30, said a press release; it will then be reborn, this August, as a new outpost of Daniel’s Steakhouse, the Gioia Hospitality brand that has been a big hit in Fort Lauderdale.
“Daniel’s Miami will open on the heels of Daniel’s Fort Lauderdale, which was included in the MICHELIN Guide as a recommended restaurant just six months after opening,” says the press release. “The restaurant will be under the leadership of Gioia Hospitality owners Tom Angelo and daughter Kassidy Angelo, Culinary Director Danny Ganem, Director of Operations Scott Ozler and Wine and Beverage Director Daniel Bishop….”
It’s a busy year for Gioia Hospitality Group. The brand has already launched D’s Sports Bar next to Daniel’s Fort Lauderdale, as well as announcing plans for an upcoming Italian restaurant opening at Grove Isle before the end of the year. Last we heard, it’s working-titled “Vita.”
“Whether its beef from ranches in North and Central Florida, fish from the Florida Keys, or produce from Homestead, the culinary team at Daniel’s strives to bring to your table the freshest ingredients expertly prepared,” says the restaurant’s website. “At Daniel’s, great food, amazing cocktails, a diverse wine list, and warm hospitality all combine to make your dining experience special every time.”
What Now reached out to Kassidy Angelo on Tuesday to ask about plans for the transition from Fiola to Daniel’s. Angelo was not immediately available for comment.
