Beloved as an “eclectic, vibe-driven eatery… serving feel good food,” Fooq’s Miami shut its doors in the somehow-already-forever-ago year of 2021. We’ve been waiting pretty much since then for the return of the restaurant, brought to Miami by restaurateur David Foulquier of We All Gotta Eat Hospitality (which is also behind concepts like Sushi Noz and Eleventh Street Pizza).
And now the launch of Fooq’s 2.0 is at hand, this time in Little River. And the update it’s getting is maybe less an update than a major transformation. As coverage in the Miami New Times summed it up nicely back in September, “What was once a quaint dining spot is evolving into a 9,000-square-foot restaurant featuring multiple dining rooms, a lounge, and an outdoor area.”
In other words, Fooq’s is making a comeback worthy of the Miami institution it had become before its hiatus.
Last anyone had heard, the launch was expected early in 2025. But What Now reached out to David Foulquier on Wednesday to ask if there were any updates. Foulquier declined to speak in detail on the new restaurant but did provide one nugget of info:
“We’ll be open sometime between the summer and the fall,” Foulquier said.
So there you have it!
