Tracy Pell and Tim Graham opened Small Wine Shop at the height of the COVID period, in 2020, becoming Broward County’s first dedicated wine dealer. In the years since (already five!), Small Wine Shop has become a mainstay county-wide for anyone looking for natural wines, whether you’re a connoisseur or just somebody looking to try something new.
Now Small Wine Shop is moving on to a new location in Victoria Park, at 911 NE 20th Ave, where it will have a wine-bar space, an even bigger selection, a small bites menu with pairings, and a bigger parking lot.
“The space is a little larger, but cozier, because it’s broken up into three separate spaces,” Tracy Pell told What Now on Tuesday. “That’s going to give us a more intimate feel, which is perfect, because we’re a community wine shop and we want people to feel at home.”
The wine is 90% natural wines from all over the world—the U.S., of course, but also South Africa, Greece, Australia, Hungary, Slovenia, and others.
“We’re always trying to expand what people think about when they think about wine,” Pell said.
And it seems to be working. One of the biggest considerations for the new location is not necessarily what you’d expect: the parking lot.
“We’re one of the few natural wine-focused wine shops in South Florida. So, because we’re one of the only places where you can access these wines, the parking lot makes a big difference, when people are coming from far away.”
The new location is working toward an opening sometime in May.
