South Florida-based French restaurateur Karim Laitaoui is bringing the area Le Petit Poussin. According to a plan review filed with the DBPR, the address will be 261 South Federal Highway.
The concept, which Laitaoui reports should open in about a month or so, will feature a gourmet mix of crêpes, salads, pastries, specialty coffees, a fine grocery market and wines. They will be open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and on Saturdays and Sundays, they will offer brunch.
A veteran of the industry, Laitaoui moved away from France 20 years ago and has honed his culinary expertise all around the world. His cooking has taken him to New York, London, Paris, Guadalajara and Vancouver before he landed in Miami.
Laitaoui’s previous south Florida concept was Bistro 1902, which received praise from numerous reviewers. He currently operates Ships Galley at Point of America.
The construction for the space is still underway. An exact opening date is unknown.
