Located at 12700 SW 122nd Ave, Suite 113, in West Kendall, Freshco Market & Grill is a fish market and restaurant that has quickly gained acclaim since its opening in 2018.

“Voted Best Seafood Market & Grill in Florida by Eat This, Not That. Featured in The Miami Herald and iHeart.com as one of the Top 5 Seafood Spots in Miami,” says a description on the Freshco Fish Yelp page, where it boasts a 4.6-star rating.

After gaining national notoriety as a heavy-hitter in seafood, the brand is currently preparing to expand to second location, this time in Downtown Doral, at 8455 NW 53rd St, Suite G103.

“After we were featured in the Herald, a lot of people found us in West Kendall, where we’re basically a small mom-and-pop in a shopping center,” Maya Palazon, who owns the restaurant in partnership with Mario Palazon, told What Now on Tuesday. “Then we got approached to join Downtown Doral. It’s a great opportunity, we’re really excited.”

The restaurant’s menu is market driven with an emphasis on local fish like red snapper, grouper, and others. The menu at the new location will be familiar to anyone who knows Freshco in Kendall—“But we will be glamming it up a bit more,” said Palazon. “The Kendall location is fast casual, but this will be full service, with a full liquor bar and live music on the weekends.”

We’re excited to see how it turns out!
