The community of restaurants on East Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach will welcome a new wood-fired sourdough pizza concept into the mix early next year. Opening at 522 E Atlantic Ave, Gesto will serve up “pizzas from a wood-burning oven, made with high-end ingredients,” plus wine and beer, owner Nicolas Kurban told What Now on Saturday.
Kurban said the details are still largely under wraps, but a few more can be found in recent coverage by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel:
“We’re looking at a very small menu,” Kurban told the Sun-Sentinel. “It’s pizzas with the best mozzarellas and the best meats, a few salads and desserts, plus some beautiful wines, and that’s about it.”
To put a number on it, you can expect to find a total of eight signature pies, made with a sourdough base, and cooked at a temperature between 550 and 600 degrees or about two minutes.
Opening on East Atlantic Avenue between Northeast Fifth and Sixth Avenues, Gesto replaces Kurban’s Amar Mediterranean Bistro, joining restaurants like La Boulangerie Boul’Mich, The Seed Coffee & Juice Bar, Mussel Beach, and Beg For More Izakaya.
