A week ago, Gioia Hospitality Group announced the opening of D’s Sports Bar, a new high-end sports bar destination, next door to Gioia’s Daniel’s, A Florida Steakhouse, in Fort Lauderdale. The new sports bar will offer an experience just as high-end as Daniel’s, but with a slightly more casual approach.
“With the high-end sports bar concept, we were trying to incorporate something that would be complementary but also very different for our guests,” Kassidy Angelo, a partner in Gioia Hospitality Group with her father Tom Angelo, along with Culinary Director Danny Ganem and Wine & Beverage Director Daniel Bishop, told What Now on Tuesday. “We’re next to a residential area, and a lot of people would be coming in with their children, and we noticed there was room for a more casual concept with food that is just as great.”
Now D’s Sports Bar opens today, offering a menu featuring “a blend of elevated comfort food and Italian-American favorites all prepared with top-tier ingredients,” said a press release.
“The space is situated in a 1950’s-era car service garage and boasts a warm and inviting ambiance with plush emerald green seating that adds a luxurious contrast to the dark wood finishes,” a description of the space in the release says. “A dozen high-definition screens strategically placed throughout the venue ensure an ideal viewing experience from every seat, with a special focus on showcasing games from South Florida’s beloved teams.”
Furthermore, D’s Sports Bar is not the only Gioia Hospitality project coming down the line this year. The Miami Herald reported last week that the hospitality group “plans to open the upscale Italian restaurant Vita on the water at Grove Isle at the end of the year.”
Kassidy Angelo told What Now that while that restaurant project is currently entitled “Vita,” the final name of the restaurant is still pending. She confirmed that it will indeed be an “upscale Italian concept.”
