Go Jerk Looks to Be Opening Brick-and-Mortar Restaurant

Popular food truck Go Jerk has built up a following in South Florida with its authentic Jamaican flavors, and now it appears to be launching in a brick-and-mortar setting. What Now found submitted plan review documents that show an opening in the works at 6438 Pembroke Road. Google Maps confirms this, showing the location as “Temporarily Closed.”

“We specialize in the providing some of the finest and most delicious Jerk meals in South Florida,” says a description provided to Google Maps. “Our menu includes Jerk chicken, Jerk Pork, Escoveitch fish, Jerk Chicken Pasta, Jerk BBQ Chicken. Sides include: Rice and Peas, Festival, Fried plantains (Tostones). Vegetarian options includes: Jerk Chick Peas Jerk Tofu Veggie Soup.”

What Now reached out on Monday to co-owner Christopher Crooks to inquire about plans for the launch. Crooks declined to make any immediate comment on the news. What Now is still awaiting an update.

“We pride ourselves in providing quality dishes from the Jamaican cuisine with the root of recipe and taste originating from Portland Jamaica,” the Google Maps description continues. “Portland is a parish in Jamaica which is popularly known for its beautiful natural features and amazing Jerk. Go Jerk the taste u love.”
