With a history going back to 1949, Goldberg’s Delicatessen & Bagels serves a popular selection of bagels, sandwiches, wraps, breakfast, and more at 2701 E Oakland Park in Fort Lauderdale (as well as a number of locations in New York). Operated in partnership between Marc Goldberg and Nick Maltese, the classic Jewish deli is currently at work on its second Fort Lauderdale location.

Plan review documents were submitted showing an opening planned for a Goldberg Deli & Bagel at 5640 N Federal Highway. What Now confirmed with a representative of Maltese & Co. that the deli is not relocating from its present home: this is a new location.

“Our roots are steeped in the world of flour, water and yeast,” says the deli’s website. “Now four generations strong, our family, ‘The Goldbergs’ has brought the bagel to the 21st century.”

The menu features Goldberg’s Famous Sandwiches & Platters like the Bayview Dip (Roast Beef, Melted Muenster, Horseradish Sauce on Ciabatta with Au Jus) and the Hot Open Roast Beef with mashed potatoes or vegetable and gravy. There are plenty of breakfast choices, too, like benedicts, avocado toasts, and “Anything on a Bagel,” including sandwiches like the Spicy Hobo (bacon, eggs, and pepper jack cheese) and the Bayview Boy (Three Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Ham and Cheese).
