Founded in Guatemala in 1971, friend chicken chain Pollo Campero has grown to include more than 400 locations worldwide. The chain currently has two locations in South Florida, in Calle Ocho and Boynton Beach, and it appears to have more locations planned for the area.
Recently submitted plan review paperwork shows a Pollo Campero opening at 3790 NW 79th Avenue in Doral. More paperwork submitted earlier this fall shows an opening at 3710 W 85th Path in Hialeah.
“To us, Campero means flavor. A deep, rich and unique taste that can only be obtained by uniting the freshest ingredients with the best, complementary spices,” says the Pollo Campero website’s Our Story page. “It’s about combining generations of family recipes into the perfect, savory bite. And it’s about the people. The hardworking Campero family that brings the food to life. Food that is lovingly made from scratch, with a signature flavor that brings everyone together.”
The menu features meals like the 4 Piece Special, the Campero Spicy Chicken Sandwich Meal, and the Empanada Trio (Our crispy, golden-brown empanada is stuffed with freshly pulled chicken, roasted corn, peppers, onion, and Monterey Jack cheese. Seasoned to perfection with our smokey and tangy Campero sauce). Sides include Mac & Cheese, Mashed Potatoes, Campero Rice, French Fries, Yuca Fries, and Sweet Plantains.
What Now reached out on Monday to Development Manager Fabiola Suarez to inquire about plans for future South Florida Pollo Campero locations. Suarez was not immediately available for comment.
