A place “Where Luxury Meets Community,” the luxury residences at Williams Island in Aventura offer “elegant resort amenities… spectacular views… charming village scapes.” Movie star Sophia Loren even came to call this exclusive, luxurious milieu her home.

“Here at Williams Island, members enjoy a private island located in the middle of a bustling city of Aventura where you find an exquisite collection of designer shops and restaurants, so you are never far away from the best of it all,” says the Williams Island website.

Among these amenities is the Island Club Pool Bar & Grill:

“The Island Club Pool Bar & Grill offers delicious, food and drinks in an informal, open-air setting where bathing suits are welcome,” says the restaurant’s page on the Williams Island website. “Relax and get comfortable in a true island paradise setting while enjoying lunch, snacks and refreshing tropical drinks. The Island Club Pool Bar & Grill presents an array of generous salads, sandwiches, grilled items, a variety of cool drinks and more.”

After finding plan review paperwork submitted by Williams Island for a “Club” project, What Now set out to find out what was going on at the Island Club Pool Bar & Grill. This was easy enough: the website shows it is currently closed for renovations.

What Now reached out on Monday to Thaddeus Keefe, Vice President of Food & Beverage at Williams Island, to inquire about the restaurant’s update. Keefe was not immediately available for comment.
