Joe & The Juice is opening a new shop in Coral Gables.

Joe & The Juice New York LLC recently filed permit applications with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation to open a shop at 536 S. Dixie Highway in Coral Gables. No opening date has been announced.

The Danish-born juice bar is expandingly rapidly in Florida, with shops planned in Boca Raton, Orlando, and Winter Park. The fast-casual chain owns and operates more than 380 locations nationwide and is loved for its healthful menu of juice blends, coffee drinks, sandwiches, and snacks. The chain is popular with content creators for both its delicious foods and photogenic stores.

Though globally popular, the chain started with one tiny juice bar inside a clothing store. In 2002, Kaspar Basse opened a juice bar, inspired by Starbucks and clothing stores. The former advertising exec didn’t know much about juice at the time, with the tiny shop-within-a-shop consisting of a small soda fridge with sodas, beer, and fruit juices; liquor on the shelves, and an ashtray on the counter. Still, the tiny shop grew in popularity and Joe & The Juice evolved into a much-loved juice and coffee bar.
