World-famous Spanish chef José Andrés is having a big year in South Florida. The chef’s hospitality country has launched two concepts in Miami Beach: Mediterranean restaurant Aguasal and cafe-by-day-cocktail-bar-by-night Bar Centro.
The center of this activity is Andaz Miami Beach, by Hyatt, and according to coverage by the Miami New Times, the chef hasn’t finished developing the hotel. In addition to Aguasal, which serves “coastal Mediterranean food with Florida ingredients”, and Bar Centro, which “transforms from a Spanish café to a cocktail lounge at night,” Andrés is preparing the South Florida comeback of his Bazaar by José Andrés concept there too.
The Bazaar is a celebrated restaurant that has expanded, along with spinoff concepts like Bazaar Mar and Bazaar Meat, to cities like Chicago, New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. A previous Bazaar location close in recent years, and now a comeback is expected, completing the chef’s portfolio at the Andaz.
“A carefully curated theater of shared plates, The Bazaar consistently wows its guests with ingeniously innovative cuisine, thoughtfully created cocktails, theatrical presentations, and attentive yet unfussy service,” says on the Bazaar website. “The Bazaar takes guests on a wild sensory adventure born of José’s Spanish roots, both traditional and avant-garde, in a bold, playful atmosphere where anything is possible. Each location is completely unique, adding a fresh, ever-evolving intrigue to the world of The Bazaar.”
An opening date has not yet been announced for the Bazaar’s South Florida comeback.
