Located northwest of the intersection between West Sunrise Boulevard and North Flamingo Road, Sunrise’s Sawgrass Mills shopping mall is the next stop of Juan Valdez Cafe, a chain of coffee shops serving world-famous Juan Valdez coffee at a growing number of outposts in South Florida and the rest of the Sunshine State.

Juna Valdez Cafe opened its first shop in 2002, at El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá. “It has represented the heart and soul of Colombian coffee growers around the world, and has continued growing by generating experiences throughout its specialized coffee shops,” reads the Juan Valdez Cafe website’s About Us page. “Since the creation of the Juan Valdez® character in 1959, the icon has represented and promoted Colombian coffee globally, positioning and differentiating it from other coffees.”

In addition to locations in Doral and Plantation, Juan Valdez Cafe has at least four locations currently in development for South Florida:

  • Wynwood – opening at 277 NW 28 St. Unit 110
  • Weston – opening at 1142 Weston Rd.
  • Miami Springs – opening at 1 Curtiss Pkwy, Unit 2
  • Sawgrass Mills (Sunrise) – opening at 12801 W Sunrise Blvd
