Gioia Hospitality has been in the news a lot this year. Not only did it launch a new sports bar concept, D’s Sports Bar, next to its smash hit Fort Lauderdale steakhouse concept Daniel’s, it has also announced plans to open a second Daniel’s, taking over the former Fiola Miami space in Coral Gables. (The latter is expected to open in August.)

And now, there’s still more news: the Gioia Hospitality website shows another new restaurant concept on the way: La Sponda Ristorante.

Although nothing has been revealed yet about La Sponda’s menu, the name indicates that this is likely the Italian restaurant known to have been in the Gioia Hospitality pipeline.

A quick check on Google Translate tells us La Sponda means The Shore; there’s good reason, in other words, to expect a seafood-focused menu with and Italian flare.

The website says La Sponda is expected to open on Grove Isle—but where exactly? Well, coverage by The Burn Miami says it’s opening in the Vita at Grove Isle condominium complex currently under construction. That’s at 5 Grove Isle Drive.
