Word got out late last year that Lou Moshakos of LM Restaurants had purchased the space formally occupied by Bru’s Room in Deerfield Beach and was planning on opening Carolina Ale House’s twenty-fifth location there. As it happens, LM Restaurants is still planning a restaurant for that space, located at 123 NE 20th Avenue, but according to recent coverage by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, the new restaurant will be entirely different concept.
Instead of Carolina Ale House, the hospitality company behind The Cove Waterfront Restaurant & Tiki Bar, Lucky Fish Dania Beach, and more, will open a new restaurant called Lucky Lou’s Raw Bar in the space. The Sun-Sentinel says it will be a “casual oyster bar and sporty seafood shack.”
Lou Moshakos told the Sun-Sentinel that Lucky Lou’s will be a kind of tribute to Seafood Shanty, the restaurant that launched his career back in 1978. It’s a return-to-roots moment.
LM Restaurants will be bringing long-accumulated expertise to bear on the new, accessible oyster bar and seafood and spot.
“We’re one of the fastest growing companies in North Carolina because of our people,” says the LM Restaurants website. “We’re committed to our purpose, being a trusted community partner, and always making our guests and each other feel like a part of our family.”
