Located at the intersection of Northwest 26th Street and North State Road 7 in Lauderdale Lakes, the Shops of 26th Street appear to be adding a new cafe. Plan review paperwork was submitted recently by Piman Cafe LLC for a restaurant by that name at 2542 N State Rd 7.

Behind Piman Cafe LLC is local entrepreneur Edmond Wilguins. Wilguins is also behind Piman Fest, a Haitian Flag Day Event, along with several other local concerns.

What Now reached out to Wilguins on Tuesday to inquire about plans for Piman Cafe. Wilguins was not immediately available for comment on the project. As a result, details about the cafe’s menu offerings are not available yet, although the name shared with Piman Fest creates the expectation of Haitian cuisine.

Opening in the Shops of 26th Street, Piman Cafe would join other local businesses like The Basement Hair Salon and Central Nails. The 2542 N State Rd 7 location was previously occupied by Club Xstasy Cafe, which is still marked “Temporarily Closed” on Google.
