The South Florida Business Journal reported in 2015 that Carlos Suarez, owner of the New York City restaurant Rosemary’s, was planning to open a Rosemary’s location here in South Florida and had started searching for a suitable site. The West Village restaurant offers a dinner menu featuring a variety of dishes from Italian cuisine, including pastas, Focacce, and seafood dishes like Octopus Calabrese and Seafood Risotto—all of which could fit quite well into Miami’s culinary landscape.

“I’ve enjoyed meals in [Wynwood] and noticed that the diners in these restaurants remind me of the diners here in the West Village,” Suarez told the Journal at the time. “I hadn’t had that feeling dining at restaurants on the beach over the years. [Wynwood] started to feel like a good fit for us.”

Now it’s 2023, so what’s happening? As it turns out, a plan review was submitted recently for Rosemary’s Wynwood, at 322 NW 25th Street.

What Now reached out to Suarez on Tuesday to ask about the restaurant’s progress. Suarez was not immediately available for comment on the prospect of Rosemary’s arrival, at last, in Wynwood. But all signs point to an opening on its way.
