The retail center on the southeast corner of Ocean Drive and South Pointe Drive appears to be the future home of upcoming pizza restaurant Nexxt Pizza. A recently submitted plan review shows the pizza restaurant opening at 40 South Pointe Drive.

“It’s going to be Roman-style pizzas, salads, and sandwiches,” owner Bogac Onur told What Now in a midday phone call on Thursday. Onur declined to comment further during the call and was not available for further comment by deadline.

Nexxt Pizza may be a kind of successor to South Beach’s long-popular Nexxt Cafe, which shuttered abruptly back in 2019. Owned by Boce Group, LLC, Nexxt Cafe offered classic eats like the Bacon-Bacon Cheeseburger (“charbroiled, grass-fed, organic beef, covered with melted cheddar and American cheese, crispy bacon, and secret sauce.”)

The South Pointe Drive location is situated alongside several other eateries, including Purple Lotus Kava Bar, The Lobster Shack, and South Pointe Tavern.
