A new cat cafe is opening in West Palm Beach this summer. Launched with the goal of saving cats’ lives through adoptions, Nine Lives Cafe will offer coffee and pastries (including gluten-free options), along with yoga, cat adoption services, devotional groups, and more at 2032 N Dixie Highway.

It all started when founders Jada and Raz moved to South Florida and quickly noticed the lack of cat cafes in the area. Meanwhile, there was a commercial space on Dixie Highway that the couple had been wanting to develop into something.

“We always wanted to develop this space together,” Jada told What Now on Friday. “So we said, ‘Let’s do a cat cafe!’”

The result is a relaxing space with neutral tones and touches of the outside world brought in. On one side is the cafe, serving up coffee and pastries with seating for about 25 guests; on the other is the cat sanctuary space.

“We’ve been taking our time with the interior space,” Jada said. “We’ve been enjoying it, putting all our love and effort into that.”

While no set date has been established for an opening, Raz told What Now that Nine Lives Cafe is about two months from an opening.
