With two locations in New York City and another in Montclair, New Jersey, NYC-born temaki bar Nami Nori appears to be preparing its Florida debut. Submitted plan review documents show Nami Nori opening at 156 NE 41st St, in Miami’s Design District.
“Originating in New York City, Nami Nori is a casual temaki bar specializing in open-style sushi hand rolls,” says the brand’s website. “Our menu features signature temaki, including crunchy varieties, as well as takes on the classics and a special vegan section. The open-style temaki allows guests to enjoy a wide variety of flavors, in each fun-to-eat, visually tempting bite.”
The menu also features appetizers and small bites, plus beer, sake, and wine.
“Coming from the rarified Japanese restaurants in which they trained, partners Taka Sakaeda, Jihan Lee and Lisa Limb envisioned Nami Nori to be a more inclusive place that balances accessibility with a dedication to quality and creativity with a respect for traditional techniques,” the website continues. “Nami Nori is a place to share with friends, old and new.”
What Now reached out to Lisa Limb on Friday to inquire about plans for a Nami Nori location in the Miami Design District. Limb was not immediately available for comment.
