An upcoming new restaurant is preparing to take Miami back to the basics of Italian cuisine. Opening on Northwest 34th Street, near the intersection with North Miami Avenue, Pasta e Basta will offer a menu of quality homemade pastas.
“Pasta e Basta is born from my main passion in life, which is pasta,” owner and chef Niccolo de Zambiasi told What Now on Monday. “It’s going to focus solely on the production of the best pasta and the best sauces.”
The restaurant will open in a space that seats a total of 60 guests (30 indoors and 30 outdoors), with classic European décor.
“We’re really focusing on a beautiful atmosphere,” the chef said. “The backyard is going to be iconic in Miami,” he added. It will have a southern Italian/Sicilian feel, with shade from olive trees and tomatoes cultivated for the restaurant’s tomato sauce.
“We want to keep it simple. It’s all about mastering the most authentic sauces from southern, central, and northern Italy.”
A selection of freshly made pastas like spaghetti, bucatini, tagliatelle, and rigatoni will be served in a variety of sauces, including original authentic carbonara, Bolognese, and pesto. A killer seafood pasta is also to be expected.
